Hey, guys! The time to sign up for MSP is upon us, so if you want to spend the week volunteering and serving those around us please download these forms. As a bonus, immediately after we get back we will be having a swim party at the Kittleman's house from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. to welcome our Summer Youth Ministry Intern, Samantha Sheffield. Come and cool off in the pool & welcome Sam. If you're around much this summer, you're going to see a lot of her! She's pretty cool! Go 'friend' her on Facebook right now!

Hey!  For everyone who has asked, we aren't able to go swimming this week, but we will gather at the church at 5pm to hang out and play games until the Fishing With a Mission Fish Fry and awards ceremony begins at 6pm!  Come have some fun, and then stay and eat some fish with us!  Call me if you have questions!

Here are the necessary details you need if you are attending the Youth Worship Conference coming up April 20-22 . For conference specifics, visit www.reachingyouth.org. If you have any questions, feel free to reach me at 956.878.8275.

When to be at McFirst to leave:  
12 p.m. (noon) on Friday, April 20. (I will be here between 11:30 & 11:45 if you want to get here a bit early and get your stuff loaded.) You should already have eaten lunch or bring a lunch with you for the road. We will be getting on the road quickly, so don’t mess around.

What to bring: 
A good attitude, 1 Bag with clothes for 2 days (in addition to what you will be wearing), swimsuit (we might have time to swim... girls must bring one piece or a dark shirt to cover 2 piece), toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, $$ for a possible mall trip, snack money, pillow (if you want it), medications, a notebook & pen/pencil to take notes with, your Bible. Plan on wearing jeans to church on Sunday morning.

If you choose to take an iPod, portable DVD player, Nintendo DS, etc., they will be left in the van during conference time (you can use them on the trip up and back).

Whatever you bring that doesn’t fit into one medium sized bag, you must hold in your lap during the trip – In other words, don’t bring 2 suitcases.

What not to bring:  

Anything you don’t want stolen, negativity, revealing clothes (if you don’t know what that means, ask your mom or dad), anything prohibited on the worship conference flyer.

When we will be back:

Return time is approximately 6:00 p.m. (6 to 8 window) on Sunday evening, April 22. We will call from Falfurrias to give parents a heads up about exact arrival time.

A Bunch of you have asked me about Youth Worship Conference, but no one has brought me a registration form. Sad Face... .

I don't know about you guys, but I'm planning on going for the weekend to San Antonio and having my life enriched by the fellowship, worship, and learning - And I'd love it if a couple of you would do me a solid and come with me :) How about it? Who's coming? The cost for the whole weekend is $130 - that covers travel, registration, two nights lodging, & meals - that's really a pretty good deal! If you need a registration form, you can download it here, or you can get one from the church office.

But seriously, if you want to participate, I need to know ASAP. Your registration is due to me by Wednesday, April 11th  SUNDAY, APRIL 15th. That's very soon. If you are writing a check, make it out to: FUMC.

This is a reminder for all youth from FUMC McAllen that are participating in Youth-Led Maundy Thursday Worship.  Our "Dress" Rehearsal is tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 4) at 6:00 p.m.  We should wrap up by 8:00 p.m.  Also, you will need to be at the church on Thursday night (April 5) by 5:45 p.m.

If you are able to arrive a little early on Wednesday to help set up chairs and get some additional practice, that would be excellent as well.  Contact me if you have any questions!

Tonight we're playing HANTIS again, but this time we're going to play on a sand court!  Join us tonight (March 15th) at the Sonic on 10th Street in McAllen!  Bring your friends and come hang out even if you aren't going to play! (I'll have a volleyball there too!)

Sweet!  Come and hang out with us at RISE this Sunday Night from 5 to 7pm in the Fellowship Center as we play Hantis for the first time!  Hantis is a new game sensation that is taking over the world, and it looks beast!  We're going to try playing it for the first time ever!  It's going to be amazing!  Check out the video below to learn more about Hantis rules, gameplay, and to get a first look at Hantis in action! If you think that the life and teachings of Jesus are important, isn't it a good idea to know what he said and did?  Join us tonight (2/26/12) at RISE for a Gospel Reading Marathon.   This is a SERIOUS event, so please come prepared to be serious with our reading of The Good News about Jesus.  Come start the Lenten season out the right way - you will be blessed by the words of and about our Savior.  We will start at 5 p.m. in Room 206 and we should finish up by 8 p.m.

Here are the necessary details you need for the Midwinter 6 Camp Information (Sr. High) coming up on February 17-19.

Parents’ Note:  At the HEB Foundation campsite, there is no cell phone coverage.  We will send texts once we get close to camp. The HEB Foundation Camp is 12 miles north of Leakey, TX www.hebuttfoundation.org.  An emergency number there is 830.232.6671 if you need to reach us once we are at camp.  I will have a calling card with me that I will use to contact you if there is an emergency.

When to be at FUMC McAllen to leave: 

10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17.  You should bring snacks with you for the road as well as money for meals (We will stop for lunch and for dinner).

What to bring:
